Office Policies:

Appointments
All appointments are scheduled through the receptionists. To reach the receptionist call 973-736-4442 during our business hours. We are closed daily for lunch between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Insurance Cards must be given at every appointment. Our office does not accept patients who do not vaccinate. If the patient or a family member tests positive for COVID please alert the office before appointment.

Acute/Sick Visits
If you are scheduling a same-day acute appointment, we will make every effort to see your child on that day.

Wellness Visits
If you are scheduling a well visit, we attempt to book an appointment that is convenient for you, but evening appointments and specific providers fill quickly- we encourage you to book your child’s next well visit before leaving the office.

Saturday Appointments
The office generally reserves our Saturday appointments for sick visits. We do make exceptions for newborns who need to be seen.

New Patients
The front desk staff can answer most new patient questions. If you transfer out of the office for any reason other than insurance, you cannot return.

No Show Policy
If you discover you are unable to make an appointment, we ask that you please call our office a reasonable time before so we can offer your time to another family. There is a $ 50.00 fee for non-cancellations of appointments 24 hours in advance. Repetitive no-shows will cause you to ask your family to leave the practice.

Late Policy
We try our best to run on time, but emergencies do arise and we try to keep patients informed when we are running behind. However, a primary reason we run behind schedule is when families arrive late for scheduled appointments. We ask that you please make every effort to show up on time for appointments. If a patient is more than 15 minutes late the appointment may have to be rescheduled.

Nurses Line
During our business hours, the nurses operate our nurse’s line. As a parent, you should use this line if you have a quick question regarding your child or if you are uncertain if you should bring your child into the office to be seen by one of the pediatricians. The nurses return these calls regularly throughout the day.

After Hours Advice
After business hours, if you have a question regarding your sick child you should call the office and select the after-hours doctor’s line. The providers check this line and will return phone calls after triaging them. If you have an emergency question, such as whether or not to take your child to the emergency room, then you may page the provider on call using our paging system. When paging the providers, please be sure to leave the correct phone number and to leave a message as well.

Hospital Affiliations
RWJ Barnabas Medical Center is the primary center where we send our patients.

Paperwork
If you require the completion of a school or camp form there is a $5.00 fee per form.  Please note: Depending on the time of year there may be a 5-7 day turnaround for completion. There is a charge for records of $15.00 for pick-up and $20.00 for mail. If you transfer out for any other reason other than insurance you cannot  return.
